Rusty Randolph
An orphan who rides with the Two-Gun Kid for a time.

History:
Rusty's father rustled cattle, and was killed by the persuing posse. The townsfolk pressured the local schoolmarm to throw Rusty out of the class because of his father's crimes. Although she resisted, the pressure got to Rusty and he ran away.

The real Two-Gun Kid comes across Rusty. Starstruck, Rusty begs to be allowed to ride with him, offering to cook and care for his horse, but Clay brings him back to town to rejoin his school. Rusty is once again rejected by the townsfolk, and although the Kid defends Rusty and gives up $100 dollars for his room and board, the Kid is sent out of town. Rusty follows him.

- Pat McCune- a railroad detective sent to ensure tracks are laid for the route through Windy City. Appears in Two-Gun Kid (1948) 7C- "The Saga of the Mad Mayor"

- Jake Ledbetter- a heckler who doesn't want Rusty Randolph around the other children of the town, getting violent to express his dislike of Rusty. Two-Gun Kid (1948) 7B- "Fine Feathers and Flying Fists"
- Kitty Ledbetter- the Schoolmarm of Malpais Flats. The first woman to ever catch Clay Harder's eye, while she refuses to throw Rusty out of her class she reprimands the Two-Gun Kid for standing up for Rusty, calling him a bully. Appears in Two-Gun Kid (1948) 7B- "Fine Feathers and Flying Fists"
- Jeremiah Mooney- a mayor determined to bring the railroad to his town at all costs. Appears in Two-Gun Kid (1948) 7C- "The Saga of the Mad Mayor"
- Buzz Nelson- A corrupt range boss who killed his boss and framed the boss's son for murder to steal his assets. Appears in Two-Gun Kid (1948) 7A: "Brand of the Killers!"
